Introducing Grammar Solids & Symbols, Montessori Language & Grammar At Home

Today was very exciting! Xander loves the grammar solids and today was our first day working with them. For those who may not know, the Montessori curriculum uses symbols to represent each of the nine parts of speech.   Xander matched the grammar solids to the photos on his 3 part cards and then the card labels.  He was excited to hear that there were fun activities to go with each symbol.
Montessori is so special because all activities are multi sensory, hands on, and fun.

The idea today was to familiarize him with the symbols and names.  We will get into definitions as we go through our lesson boxes.

He used our template to trace and colour each symbol, and then write the name below.
Our object/activity boxes for each part of speech are based on these boxes from Montessori for Everyone.
He is making a tiny book with these pages. Tomorrow we will check out our Noun Box!!
We made our Grammar Solids and grammar symbol template as well.
