Montessori Printed Alphabet Box, DIY Printed Alphabet Box & Cards At Home

These are the Printed Moveable Alphabet Boxes that my husband made for us.
To start I made the alphabet cards. You can decide which style of font you wish to use.

I downloaded Dnealian Manuscript for free here.  Montessori Print shop has a great file of several different font colors for $1.99 if you prefer to download them.
There is a ton of information on making moveable alphabets on Pinterest.
This is fantastic post from Living Montessori Now with inexpensive Moveable Alphabet options and resources.

When I was happy with the size of my cards we created the size of the boxes from there.
My husband did a quick sketch and built them.  They were constructed with left over lumber from another project.  Below are the cross sections. He simply stacked these and ran them through the table saw. He built both boxes in under an hour for FREE pretty great! You could easily build these with lattice moulding.

Then we had a really nice wooden ice cube tray 😃

The bottom was cut to size out of Masonite.

The hardest part about this was simply wood gluing and taping the boxes to dry.

A good sanding and we're ready to go.  I may do a quick clear coat of spray, but it's really not necessary if you don't wish to do so. Should you wish to purchase this material and cards this is a great source.
You  can also use plastic organizers for these boxes.
