Ava has been starting a series of new activities. We are doing some number and letter review.
She can count in sequence to 15 then it gets a bit hairy to 20. Sometimes her symbol recognition is a bit off.
This is a super simple little number sort & matching activity. We are using our number cards from our rod sets and number cuts outs from this box.
She laid out the cards in sequence, and then simply matches the numbers.
I have four of each number for her to sort and match.
It was interesting to watch her do this activity it really helps with the proper orientation of numbers, she would examine her work and quickly note numbers that were backwards, compare and place them correctly.
I could not get over how much she loved this! We started with numbers 1-6.
Carefully examining her 3's.
Reciting what she had done.
Placing her work back on the tray.
Lady A is taking her time exploring, and thoroughly enjoying every material!
Just a side note. This is an activity that we would usually do on the floor.
Very often though my guys want to work at the "big" table.

This is such a wonderful way to learn to recognize numbers. I will have to put this together for the preschoolers. Thank you for sharing.
