Word Study - Syllables, Montessori Language At Home

I thought I would share our Word Study bucket, and a fun and simple way to explore syllables.
I mentioned before that I love the "Teaching from a Tackle Box" idea from here.  We have changed out all of our language series materials (Pink, Blue and Green) to these buckets. Our Word Study buckets are yellow, for no particular reason other than availability.

So far in our buckets we have Syllables, Compound words, Contractions, Antonyms, Synonyms and Homophone work.  There are others, but this is where we have started.

We are having great fun with Syllables!
We are using a small drum as we are reading the words, to beat and sound the syllables.

This set of word cards contains one and two and three syllable sorting words.

Montessori Word Study is greatly carried out with cards that are used as manipulatives, and words are recorded in your language journal.

If you are interested in the cards used in this post you can find them in our Printables Store.
