Circuits & Electronics For Kids, Science At Home

Xander is fascinated with building, designing, electronics etc.
We decided to give Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 a try.
Here is their description...
Give your child an exciting, hands-on introduction to electronics with Elenco Electronics Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100. This innovative kit contains over 30 colour-coded, real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices. Recommended for children 8 and older, this set offers 101 do-it-yourself projects that will give your child an entertaining, concrete education on how electronics work.

This set is amazing! Xander absolutely loves it.  The project book is wonderful.  and after some good explanations of electricity and how the components functioned Xander was building on his own!

I think Daddy had just as much fun with this as Xander!!!

The other thing that I love it that you can purchase many additional upgrade kits.
Once children have mastered several of the techniques introduced in this kit, they can use the components to experiment and create their own customized circuits and electronic devices.
The Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 can also be upgraded to the Snap Circuits SC-300, Snap Circuits Pro, or Snap Circuits Extreme with the purchase of a UC-30, UC-40, UC-60 upgrade kits.

LOVE it!

  1. I just got this set too. I tried it out on my kids this past week...they can't get enough. As a tip for making it into center work, I "assign" a certain number of (closely relate) projects and set out the needed parts on a tray. Everyone has to make all three before I hand out more parts.

  2. I love your idea for use of this kit!!
I found this kit very well laid out and organized.
We went through all of the component with Xander and their location in the box. We helped initially with project selection (till he understood how everything worked) and then Xander went from there. He replaces all components to their correct location before starting another project.
