Apostrophe & Contraction Work

Xander has become very interested in contractions. This work is covered in our Language Arts - Mechanics Manual from Montessori Research and Development.  I decided to create a simple power point presentation for our initial lesson.  The first slide included a definition and example.  Then a series of slides containing root words, and the contraction below.  The last series of slides started with a request for Xander to record contractions with a set of root word slides.

You can make a set of contraction matching cards from the Mechanics Manual.
I also purchased this great set from Montessori for Learning. This is a fairly large set covering lots of examples. Xander matched the pairs, and recorded them in his journal. After ward he recited the contractions he'd matched in sentences.
